The Tiger, the Brahman and the Jackal
The folk story I have decided to base mine on is called 'The Tiger, the Brahman and the Jackal', it is an Indian story about a man who is tricked into freeing a tiger who then tries to eat him. The tiger says he has 3 chances to find something that thinks he should be spared, if he succeeds the tiger will let him live. The man asks a tree, a buffalo and a road all of whom have reasons to condemn the man. On the way back to the tiger the man meets a Jackal. After hearing the story the jackal helps the man trick the tiger and escape.
